Title : "Social Issue On Drugs and Alcohol Addiction"

Abstract
This report provides a brief research and literature review on social issue on drugs and alcohol used among students aged 18 to 21 years old and adult among 25 to 30 . Drugs are at times the causes of social problems. Drugs such as cocaine and opiates offer very limited positive effects and are extremely addictive. Many users of such drugs will commit crimes in order to obtain their fix. Occasionally, drugs such as methamphetamine or encyclopedic will cause deviant and violent behavior, which would be classified as a social problem.

Therefore, based on this problem . The objective is to create awareness among student and adult who loves to drink or take drugs . And don’t drink and drive .

Issue - Drugs and Alcohols Addiction .

The overuse or abuse of alcohol (alcoholism) or other drugs is called substance abuse. It can cause or worsen many medical problems and can destroy families and lives.

Drunk driving or Drugs used is on the rise and is the number two cause of accidental death, the study showed it is a cause of around 17,000 deaths each year. All but 9 states have adopted the Administrative License Revocation where if you are caught drinking and driving and found guilty you lose your license for a full year. This is a step that is being taken in order to try and avoid this social problem

Alcohol - Long-term heavy drinking damages the liver, nervous system, heart, and brain. It can lead to high blood pressure, stomach problems, medicine interactions, sexual problems, osteoporosis, and cancer. Alcohol abuse can also lead to violence, accidents, social isolation, jail or prison time, and problems at work and home.

Drugs - Drug abuse includes the use of illegal drugs—such as marijuana, methamphetamines, cocaine, heroin, or other "street drugs"—and the abuse of legal prescription and nonprescription drugs. Some people use drugs to get a "high" or to released their stress and emotional problems.

Teenagers and adults. Approximately one-half of all high school seniors in the U.S. admit to having used alcohol or an illegal drug. Substance abuse in this age group increases the risk of involvement in crime, high-risk sexual behavior, accidents, and injuries. Teens that use alcohol and drugs are more likely to have poor school performance and have higher dropout rates.

Addiction to alcohol and drugs would effect :

- Hangovers.
Headaches, nausea, vomiting, aches and pains all result from drinking too much. Drinking to the point of drunkenness makes you sick
- Cancer
.
2-4% of all cancer cases are related to alcohol. Upper digestive tract cancers are the most common, hitting the esophagus, mouth, larynx, and pharynx. Women who drink prior to menopause are more likely to develop breast cancer. Your risk of skin cancer doubles if you drink slightly more than "moderate levels." Some studies implicate alcohol in colon, stomach, pancreas and lung cancer. And let's not forget the liver.

Liver disease. Heavy drinking can cause fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis and cancer of the liver. The liver breaks down alcohol at the rate of only one drink per hour.

Marijuana and hashish can cause rapid heart rate and memory impairment soon after use. Long-term effects include cognitive problems, infertility, weakened immune system, and possible lung damage

LSD can cause nausea, rapid heart rate, depression, and disorientation. Long-term effects include paranoia and psychosis

Cocaine can cause such long-term problems as tremors, seizures, psychosis, and heart or respiratory failure

Therefore, this issue is crucial to be addressed as it affects teenagers who are studying in university and young adult who has a job . Addiction to Alcohol and druhs would affect their life in .

Visual Metaphor

Here is some examples to show the use of metaphor in some artworks to convey their message.

Sketches

                         Sketch 1

My first sketches is about getting drunk , i want the viewer to see that when you're drunk , it can cause mayhem or create trouble because you cannot control your mind when you're drunk.

                        Sketch 2

My second sketch is about people who addicted on drugs . The spoon and pills represent to those who take drugs and the money showed that its a waste to buy drugs .

                         Sketch 3

My third sketch showed that when you're addicted on drugs , it can also cause heart disease . A crack heart showed that it is infected because sometimes you can overdose when you really addicted with drugs .

                        Sketch 4

My fourth sketch , it defines that it is really dangerous to take alcohol . So i used a 'police line' with danger in it to showed that getting drunk gives you trouble for example when u drink and drive , you get caught by a police . That kind of problem can brings your life down .
